About

I see myself first and foremost as an artist. Art has been with me since I could hold a pencil, and continues to be the foundation and continuing inspiration of my work in live performance. Everything I do is informed by my fine art background, from how I process visual information to seeing performance as a whole canvas rather than a series of parts.

I received a BA in Theater (Focus in Costume Design) and Studio Art from Middlebury College in Vermont. It was there that I first explored costume design, and where I chose to really devote myself to the pursuit of a career in live performance. In 2021, I completed an MFA in Theater and Dance (Costume Technology) from the University of Texas at Austin, where I was able to hone my skills as a technician and improve my eye for line and proportion.

I love the creative problem solving our field demands. I find the greatest joy when I am engaging my designer/artist side in addition to my hands to create something new. I also love learning new skills, and I feel like I learn something new every day working in costumes. I seek out work where that is part of my daily routine.
