Leather Armor
Leather armor created for an armor making class at the University of Texas at Austin.
The chest plate was created by wet molding leather over a dressform augmented with clay. The rest of the body is segmented to allow for movement with the torso. The details on the body segments and gauntlets were tooled in. The pauldron was sculpted from plastalena clay and cast in plastic resin using a two-part injection mold. The fabric elements were draped and assembled to complete the ensemble.
